Does Local Law 126 Apply to Your Building?
Every New York City parking structure is assessed once every six years by a Qualified Parking Structure Inspector (QPSI) and classified Safe, SREM or Unsafe. When the report names repairs, KNS performs the concrete, steel, waterproofing and traffic coating work, sequenced so the garage stays open.
SREM
Safe with Repairs and Engineering Monitoring. Repairs are required within the timeframe the QPSI sets.
UNSAFE
Conditions present an immediate hazard. Protection and corrective repairs are required without delay.

What We Repair

Local Law 126 puts every parking structure on a six-year cycle. Sub-Cycle C, covering the Bronx, Queens and Staten Island, closes 31 December 2027.

A qualified parking structure inspector performs the required assessment and documents the conditions in the structure.

Classification
The structure is classified Safe, SREM, or Unsafe based on the conditions the inspector documents.

Structural Repairs
KNS performs the concrete, reinforcing steel, waterproofing and traffic coating scope in coordination with the inspector and the property team.

Reinspection and Closeout
Completed repairs are reviewed by the inspector for the amended filing, compliance and project closeout.
